Steve Andrews
Auctioneer & Realtor

Steve Andrews is a fourth generation professional auctioneer and Realtor who grew up around the auction business in Holmes County, Ohio. His father Robert and his uncle John Andrews owned and operated the weekly livestock market in Farmerstown, Ohio. After graduation from Hiland High School, Steve attended The Ohio State University and graduated in 1970 with a BS in Animal Science.

In the fall of 1970, Steve attended Reppert Auction School and immediately started his career as a full-time professional auctioneer. Early in his career, Steve sold three livestock markets a week and soon was sought after by many livestock sale managers. He has sold all breeds of dairy cattle and has been the lead auctioneer for many of the premier draft horse auctions in the United States.

Steve became a licensed Realtor in 1976. During the course of his career he has concentrated the bulk of his efforts toward the agricultural and rural residential section of the business, but has also successfully marketed some commercial and high-end residential properties. Andrews auctioneers have been successfully marketing real estate at auction for five generations. He has a sale poster from 1920 with his great-grandfather Fred as auctioneer, selling 20 building lots in Sugarcreek, OH.

Steve is a member and past president of the Ohio Auctioneers Association, a member of the National Auctioneers Association and a member of the National Association of Realtors. Steve was elected to the Ohio Auctioneers Hall of Fame in 2008. Of all of Steve’s accomplishments, he is most proud of the fact that he has had the opportunity to mentor several young auctioneers who are having successful careers in the auction business. Those auctioneers include Joseph Mast, Andy White, his son Seth, and John Kline, all of whom are an integral part of RES Auction Services.

Steve and his wife Peggy reside in Wayne County, outside of Wooster, OH where they raised their two sons Jason and Seth. With his son Seth entering the business several years ago as the 5th generation Andrews auctioneer, the Andrews name will be associated with successful auction marketing and service for many years to come.
